MESA Engineering have done it again. In 2010 they revolutionized perceptions of the compact amp format with the Transatlantic designs, bringing boutique tones from both sides of the Atlantic and putting them into a ‘lunchbox’ amp head so small you could take it anywhere.  Now in 2011 the next generation of compact tone is here, based on the most famous Boogie design of all time- Introducing the MINI RECTIFIER®.

This tiny 5.5kg package delivers the performance of the iconic Dual Rectifier® and takes you on a journey through a world of true EL-84 tone - And not just Recto tone. Combining the classic 2 channel/ 4 mode Recto preamp with Boogie’s exclusive Dyna-Watt™ power amp and patented, channel assignable Multi-Watt™ technology unleashes a Rectifier of surprising versatility. The Mini Recto delivers the undisputed hi-gain amp of legend, but also so much more. Paired with the new Rectifier 1x12 slanted or angled cab this could be the heaviest five and a half kilos ever!

The Mini Rectifier is housed in an all metal black powder coat chassis with the same iconic diamond plate front of its bigger brother. Although the chassis is only 12 5/8” (w) x 6 3/4”  (d) x 5 7/8” (h),
there’s  nothing diminutive about what’s inside. 2x EL-84 Power Tubes & 5x 12AX7 Preamp Tubes powered by MESA’s Dyna-Watt™ technology give 10 watt or 25 watt switchable power levels, and a huge amount of flexibility on two independent channels. Both power levels operate as true ‘Class A/B’ - there are no half measures in this amp. The Mini also comes with a fully bypass-able effects loop, a single button (channel 1/2) footswitch and padded gig bag. As with all Boogies, bias for valves is fixed which means replacing valves does not mean a trip to an engineer. And of course- like every other MESA/ Boogie amp before it- the Mini Rectifier is hand build exclusively in Petaluma, California.

Complimenting  this striking design both tonally and aesthetically are the new Mini Rectifier straight or angled cabs, with suitable proportions of 18” (w) x11” (d) x19 3/4” (h). Both of these cabs are loaded with a Celestion 12” Vintage 30 speaker, the same legendary speaker as the full sized MESA cabs, and complete what must surely be the heaviest ‘mini- stack’ available.
