Smitty Guitars HZ Inspired Classic S with Mastergrade Roasted Flame Maple Neck
Smitty Classic S with beautiful Master Grade Roasted Maple Neck. Inspired by the Strat that Jimi Hendrix gave to Frank Zappa at the Miami Pop Festival in 1968! Originally ordered by us, when new this guitar came with a polished metal pickguard and Tele style knobs, the same as fitted to the original guitar by Frank Zappa. It has since had a nice aged white 3-ply guard, white pickup covers and aged Strat knobs fitted. The original guard and parts are in the case (pic in gallery with them fitted when new). We can fit them if preferred, we think it looks great like this. Light weight Alder body with a nitro relic finish painstakingly copied from photos of the original guitar. The Roasted neck has a super smooth satin finish and dark rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo frets and a medium C profile, it feels lovely. The pickups are Smitty '61's, these were hand wound to replicate the pickups in an old '61 Strat we have and they really capture that illusive vintage tone.
