2009 Ernie Ball Musicman 25th Anniversary BFR 2009 in Venetian Quilt Redburst. This is the 5th guitar in the run of 25. Only these 25 were BFR (Ball Family Reserve) models and used the very best woods, including a solid Rosewood neck. Rare to see these for sale. Based on a Reflex but with a highly figured Maple top, in this case Quilt. Solid Rosewood neck and fingerboard with a medium C profile and 12" radius, it has a lovely smooth feel to the back. The pickup configuration, thanks to a series/parallel switch, allows for a total of 10 different sounds. The guitar is voiced with a pair of chrome-covered DiMarzio pickups and feature Alnico V magnets. The proprietary pickups are wired in a clever fashion to a 5-way switch and chrome 2-way series/parallel toggle that together offer a total of 10 distinct sounds: Pos. 5 (Neck Humbucker), Pos. 4 (Inside coils both pickups), Pos. 3 (Both pickups full humbucking), Pos. 2 (Outside coils both pickups), and Pos. 1 (Bridge Humbucker). All positions can be voiced in series or parallel. A great playing and sounding guitar with a versatile set of tones. Weighs 7lb 8oz. With original Hard Case and Tags.
