2014 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster 59 Journeyman Relic in Daphne Blue. A nice reissue of a Transition Strat. In the change from Maple to Rosewood fingerboards in July 1959, there were some crossovers with pickguard materials and the number the number of screws holding the pickguard on. This one has been spec'd up with a lovely thick Slab Rosewood board, sorted for darkness and a 9 hole single ply Pickguard. Other nice options are Lightly flamed AA neck, Alder body sorted for weight, Josefina Handwound '59 Pickups and a '59 Esquire 'C' neck profile which feels great, simular to the '63 profile, just a bit chunkier. The Journeyman Relic finish is very well done, the traveller implies it was overseen by Paul Waller. It's tastefully done and has some nice checking and a few dings but nothing too heavy, just like a well cared for vintage Strat. A good sounding, cool looking guitar in good condition with Original Brown Tolex case and all Tags, Cert and strap etc.
