1962 Fender Stratocaster in Fiesta Red. Totally stunning, One previous owner from new! 100% original with trem arm, ashtray bridge cover and strap and case... Purchased in London in autumn 1962, lightly used for short while, then stored in it's case for the next 60+ years!
With a neck date of June '62 and Stackpole pots with matching codes of 304-6218 which date to the 18th week of 1962. It plays superbly with a classic '62 neck profile, slightly bigger than the previous few years. Dark Brazilian Rosewood Slab fingerboard with original frets. Original single line Klusons. Wiring is original and untouched with pre-CBS black bottoms that sound really sweet with that classic slab board full warm tone.
Condition wise, this is one of the cleanest vintage Strats we have seen, the hardware shows very little sign of its age. Plastics are also excellent, pickguard is crack free and only shows the smallest amount of shrinkage. Finish on the body shows some checking and has flaked in a couple of places but is really clean otherwise. Slight wear on the lower frets but plays well with a nice low action. Original Tolex case, Trem arm and Strap.
Investment grade Custom Colour Strats like this don't come along often!
