1972 Fender Telecaster in original blonde finish. Lovely one owner guitar which is in very good condition and has clearly been well cared for over its 53 years. It plays superbly with a nice feel to the Maple neck and has a medium C profile with the original finish remaining in superb condition. The lower few frets show a bit of wear but not serious and it plays great. The body has a few marks and dings here and there but nothing serious, (see photos).
Hardware and electrics are all original apart from 2 string ferules. The pot codes are 137-6549 which date to the 49th week of 1965 and the neck date is March 72. Original pickups are the staggered pole type used from mid 60's to around '74 and sound great, with the neck pickup sounding full and warm with the bridge offering plenty of bite as is common in 70's Teles. Its also a sensible weight for the period at 8lb 3oz.
The Telecaster avoided many of the changes the Stratocaster suffered in the 70's and remained pretty similar to earlier guitars, keeping it 4 bolt neck and avoiding the 'Bullet" truss rod. This makes for a very usable and affordable vintage guitar. Examples like this don't come along often. With original 'ashtray' bridge cover and later Fender tweed hard case.
